Cookie Policy
This page lists the storage technologies currently used on westom.eu and explains how to control optional analytics.
1. Current storage technologies
A cookie is a small value stored by a browser and returned to a website. Local storage keeps a value in the browser without sending it with every request. The current configuration uses:
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
pll_language | Remembers the language version used on the multilingual site. | Up to 12 months | Functional / necessary for the requested language preference |
westomeu_consent_v2 (local storage and a first-party fallback cookie) | Stores whether analytics was accepted or rejected and the date of the choice. | 180 days | Necessary consent record |
_ga, _ga_<container-id> | Google Analytics client and session identifiers used for audience statistics. | Up to 2 years, subject to browser limits | Optional analytics; created only after consent |
The list reflects the tested local release dated 15 July 2026. A new third-party embed or marketing tool must not be added without updating consent controls and this table.
2. Default behaviour and consent
Google Analytics is blocked by default. On a first visit, you can accept analytics, reject it or open the category settings. Reject and accept controls are presented together; the website and contact form remain available after rejection.
The preference is stored for 180 days. When the consent version or storage period expires, the site asks again. Necessary language and consent storage cannot be disabled through the panel because they support the multilingual service and remember the privacy choice.
3. Google Analytics
After consent, westom.eu loads Google Analytics 4 for aggregated statistics such as pages viewed, session information, approximate location, browser and device type. Advertising storage, advertising user data, ad personalisation and Google signals are disabled in the site implementation.
Google documents the GA4 cookie names and default lifetimes and its processing in the Google Privacy Policy. Analytics is a third-party service; its technical behaviour can change.
4. Change or withdraw your choice
Select Cookie settings in the footer of any page. Turning analytics off updates the consent state and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this domain. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred while consent was valid.
You may also delete site data in your browser. Browser blocking can affect language persistence or other requested functionality.
5. Responsibility and updates
Westom Tomasz Węsierski is responsible for the site’s choice of cookies. Details are in the Privacy Policy and Legal notice. Questions: biuro@westom.pl.
EU guidance distinguishes necessary storage from analytics or tracking that requires prior consent; see Your Europe: online privacy.
